Idler frame

An idler frame is a structural support component of a conveyor system designed to hold and position idler rollers that support the conveyor belt. It provides a rigid and stable mounting point for carrying, return, or troughing idlers, ensuring proper
belt alignment and load distribution.

Typically fabricated from high-strength steel, the idler frame is designed to withstand the static and dynamic loads from the belt and conveyed material. The frame may be straight or tapered, depending on the belt width and troughing requirements. Carrying idler frames usually support three or more rollers to form a trough profile, while return idler frames hold a single horizontal roller for the belt’s return side.

Idler frames are often equipped with mounting holes or brackets for secure attachment to the conveyor structure and may include protective coatings to resist corrosion and wear in harsh industrial environments. Properly designed idler frames help maintain belt stability, reduce material spillage, extend belt life, and improve the overall efficiency and
reliability of the conveyor system.
