Rubber lagged pulley
A rubber lagged pulley is a conveyor pulley with a steel core
coated with a layer of high-friction rubber. This lagging increases belt-to-pulley friction, reduces slippage, and improves power transmission, making it ideal for high-load, high-
speed, or inclined conveyor applications.
The pulley typically consists of a steel shell, a shaft with precision bearings, and a rubber lagging layer bonded to the surface. The rubber lagging may be smooth, grooved, or patterned to enhance grip, reduce belt wear, and assist with belt tracking.
Lagged pulleys are commonly used as drive pulleys but can also serve as tail or bend pulleys where additional friction is needed.

or diamond/herringbone grooves for drive pulleys to shed water and debris.

steel pulley shell from abrasion and corrosion, thereby extending the life of the
hardware.

Noise Reduction: The cushioned surface helps dampen operational noise and
reduces the impact stress on the conveyor belt and mechanical fasteners.
